Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Practice Manager - The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Administrator Assistant - Admin support to the Practice Manager and GP's. Upholding all administrative duties pertaining to the practice.
The district nursing service provided by Virgin Care is responsible for nursing care to patients in their homes or residential homes in the community. The district nursing sister is responsible for the assessment and review of the needs of each individual patient and carer and the provision of an appropriate care plan.
Referrals to the service may be made either by your doctor, hospital or self referral.
District nurses also run clinics at New Haw Day Centre and St Mary's Day Centre as well as leg ulcer and well leg clinics.

The team, which comes under Virgin Care, takes care of children under the age of 5 and the elderly. All team members are qualified nurses with specialist training in family health, child development and the elderly. Their primary responsibility is for the promotion of good health and prevention of ill health. They may be contacted on 01932 340411. A health visitor is usually in the office between 09:00 and 10:00 and 16:00 and 17:00; otherwise a message may be left with the health visitor's secretary or receptionist on 01932 356812.
Our health visitors work closely with our midwife providing parenthood classes. Their prime function is to promote good health through education and to give parents an understanding of their child's development. Apart from child health clinics, they also carry out routine developmental checks on pre-school children.
